Founded in 2005, SCGIS Slovenia as a young organization that operates on a volunteering basis celebrated its 5th anniversary in 2010, commemorating a half decade of building a nation of conservation awareness. In the past 5 years, Society for Conservation GIS Slovenia, as a national chapter of SCGIS, has strategically moved its traditional directions of operation with extremely dynamic fluctuations of members to a integrative nonprofit NGO with the leading GI Science and environmental scientists in Slovenia.
